How do I join?
VSF is 100% inclusive. We accept and recognize every Veteran of Special Forces as a member of VSF. Joining VSF is as easy as this. If you earned a Green Beret you are a member. If you have not earned a Green Beret, VSF membership is by invitation only. How can I become more involved?
VSF Directors and Advisors are elected from the Special Forces retired ranks. Let us know if you are interested. Is VSF a secret organization?
VSF is open. Our goals and positions are clearly stated on our web site. VSF has no hidden agendas. We want you to understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. What do you do?
The VSF Board of Directors has met privately with MG Csrnko, CG United States Special Forces Command; MG Parker, CG JFKSWC&S; LTG Wagner, CG USASOC; and again collectively with these three leaders and Admiral Olson, USSOCOM Commander. Our VSF leaders have testified before a House Armed Services Subcommittee. We continue to provide information to Congressional and military leaders. We have, we maintain, and we continue to establish direct contact with other significant national leaders. Our intent is always the preservation of Special Forces and the strengthening of Special Forces to address our nation's unconventional enemies. What are Special Forces Misrepresentations as depicted on your web site?
The term/description SPECIAL FORCES is not used or recognized as a generic term. It is the proper name of a force of specially trained and equipped unconventional warfare soldiers, that are and must remain unique in their missions and operations. The U. S. ARMY SPECIAL FORCES have a 60 year history of employment across the entire spectrum of warfare. The generic use of this term to describe other forces/services will not be recognized, and such use will be questioned and rebutted by VSF. I am a Special Forces Veteran. How can I help you?
We have been posting information on the web site, and using internal SF email networks, in an effort to identify to you directly, issues facing our active duty brothers.
Making our views known to Congress is essential. We realize that Special Forces will not be strengthened if we only talk to each other. Since the Gabriel demonstration area was deactivated, Congress and other VIPs (foreign and American) have no where to go to mingle with ODA members. No one knows and understands Special Forces better than Special Forces Veterans. We submit that each of us must speak to our Congress persons often and regularly. We have provided links to HASC and SASC members on the web page.
If you (like us) are involved with other organizations oriented to Special Forces, like SFA, SOA, or STMP, we recognize your many important contributions to the Special Forces community. We believe your strength is vital, and support and applaud your efforts. We would appreciate your support and suggest we all make providing input about Special Forces to your Congressperson a regular effort. An effort that all of us get behind and support individually and collectively. Is VSF a tax-free organization?
Not yet. We are actively pursuing that status. VSF is a non-profit organization in so far as we produce no reportable income. Who gets paid and how much?
VSF pays no salaries. No VSF members receive remuneration for their efforts. All officers and board members pay their own travel expenses. Members of the Board of Directors share all administrative expenses equally. In the future, we may ask for help with expenses.
