Privacy Policy

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. That is why we have adopted this Privacy Policy, to let you know how your personal information is processed and used. We promise that we will take steps to use your personal information only in ways that are compatible with this Privacy Policy. The following policies are only in effect for the Web pages, newsletters, discussion lists and opt-in announcement lists owned and operated by Veterans of Special Forces.

What information we are collecting and how we are collecting it:
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers that serve as that computer's "Internet Protocol". When a visitor requests a page from www.veteransofspecialforces.org, our Web host automatically recognizes that visitor's domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed the site. We get a consolidated report that allows us to evaluate our traffic in aggregate. We neither receive, collect, store nor evaluate information for specific IP addresses.

Cookies:
To the best of our knowledge, our web site does not send cookies. You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings of your Internet browser. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies, or allow your browser to show you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose not to accept cookies, your experience at Web sites may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.

Information we collect:
The veteransofspecialforces.org web site has no means to nor does it attempt to retrieve or store any email addresses.

The email addresses of those who initiate email to VSF are stored for the sole reason of responding to the communication initiated by the reader.

Whenever we request the identity of a visitor, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the inquiry before the information is requested. We maintain a strict "No-Spam" policy that means that we do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your contact information to third parties.

Information we collect when you contribute:
If you make a contribution to Veterans of Special Forces by credit card, we need to know your name, mailing address, credit card number and expiration date in order to process the transaction. We do not retain your credit card number or expiration date in our system. We ask for your email address so that we can email you a receipt.

Legislation requires that non-profit groups file regular reports with the IRS that detail their contributions and expenditures. We must identify the name and address of contributors of $200 or more. If the donor is a person, we must also ask for the employer and occupation of that individual. Other than as required by law, we do not disclose this information to any other third parties.

Your Consent To This Agreement:
By using the www.veteransofspecialforces.org web site, you consent to the collection and use of information as specified above. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
